Panaji: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-backed candidates for the upcoming Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) elections will file their nominations on Friday, party leaders said, adding that the final list will be confirmed only after the withdrawal date.
Senior BJP leader Atanasio Monserrate said that while nominations are scheduled to be submitted on Friday, the party will take a final decision on its officially backed candidates only after the withdrawal deadline.
“Nominations will be filed on Friday, but the final list of BJP-backed candidates will be clear only after the withdrawal date. There is still scope for changes,” he said.
BJP Goa President Damodar Naik also confirmed that the selection process is ongoing and the party will announce its final list after the withdrawal stage is completed.
