PANAJI: In a clear message aimed at strengthening internal unity, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership has directed its legislators to steer clear of engaging in public blame games within the party. The directive was issued during a meeting of the party’s state core committee held on Monday.
State BJP President Damodar ‘Damu’ Naik, while briefing the media after the meeting, said that all ministers and MLAs have been firmly instructed to maintain party discipline going forward.
“The party will not tolerate internal squabbling. Our focus must remain on governance and unity,” Naik said, underlining the leadership’s stand against infighting.
This strong internal messaging comes amid rising political tensions and public spats among some party members in recent weeks. The leadership has now made it clear that any public airing of grievances will be dealt with seriously.
The core committee meeting also saw the formation of an 11-member panel led by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to address the contentious issue of app-based taxis in the state — an issue brought into sharp focus following a recent assault incident in Pernem.
Naik further hinted at a possible cabinet reshuffle after the monsoon session of the state legislative assembly, signaling that performance and discipline will play key roles in upcoming political decisions.
