Panaji: BJP Government slow-poisoned mining business in Goa in last 12 years. The government led by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant is now destroying Tourism, charged Congress President Amit Patkar.
Addressing a Press Conference after filing a complaint before the Director General of Police and Home Minister of Goa against Chief Secretary Punit Kumar Goel, TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane and others for acts of fraud, cheating criminal breach of trust and misuse of position, Congress President Amit Patkar demanded that investigation should be given to Central Bureau of Investigation.
Congress functionaries Babi Bagkar, Rajan Korgaonkar, Virendra Shirodkar, Chandan Mandrekar, Lourenco Silveira and Vivek D’Silva were also present for the Press Conference.
As all the Ministers, MLAs, Bureaucrats and BJP functionaries are all busy making money with all corrupt practices, the Law and Order situation has become worse with outsiders attacking Goans. Girls face eve teasing and Police remain mute spectators, said Amit Patkar.
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant has said that Crime Detection Rate is highest with 95% detections. If so, Why is Siddhi Naik’s case still not solved? Questioned Amit Patkar. He also slammed the Government for its failure to encourage and support local businesses.
“We had submitted a Memorandum to the Governor of Goa P.S.Sreedharan Pillai demanding action against the Chief Secretary of Goa for illegal conversion of land in Aldona. Unfortunately, the Governor did not act. I appeal to the Governor to dismiss the BJP Government for its failure to maintain Law and Order, Rampant Illegal Conversions of Land in Goa and Destroying Identity of Goa, Amit Patkar demanded.
Youth Congress Vice President Vivek D’Silva condemned the attacks on locals in Calangute. He said that right from Panchayat to Member of Parliament, all belong to BJP. Hence it is clear that BJP is promoting Criminal Mafia in Goa.
