Panaji: AAP’s campaign and Kejriwal’s first Guarantee for free 24/7 electricity stands vindicated today as, faced by public pressure BJP brings a electricity subsidy to prevent price rise. The BJP who’s power minister arrogantly defended his decision to not provide free 24/7 electricity today has taken one more u-turn after being faced with the massive public support Aam Aadmi Party Goa has received for its Electricity Campaign. AAP has stopped the criminal loot of increasing power prices without a single MLA in the Assembly already proving it is the only viable opposition to the BJP. Congratulating Goenkars on this victory AAP National Convenor and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal urged Goenkars to “Change your Govt, AAP will provide free Electricity”
Just yesterday AAP highlighted how Goenkars across the state have supported the first Guarantee by Arvind Kejriwal for free 24/7 electricity. The party shared that it has reached out to half of Goa’s households and received an average of 80% of them support the first guarantee by Arvind Kejriwal.
AAP highlighted 3 specific constituencies including that of CM Pramod Sawant and shared that 86% of Sanquelim households have registered support for the Guarantee and for AAP’s politics in the state. 78% of Valpoi households and 74% of Curchorem, the power minister Nilesh Cabral’s constituency, households have endorsed AAP’s politics.
This groundswell of support is what seems to have terrified the BJP who in firefighting mode last week announced free water to Goan households, a promise that was widely panned across Goa as Goenkars highlighted severe supply issues. Hot on the heels of this the Sawant Sarkar has announced it’s electricity subsidy backtracking on a year of bravado. It’s clear that AAP has scared the BJP.
In a polity where opposition parties in the Assembly are unable and unwilling to take on the BJP, AAP has achieved much more than them without a single MLA in the house. Goenkars have truly recognised AAP as the only party that can save Goa.
In a tweet after the BJP Cabinet’s decision Arvind Kejriwal reached out to Goenkars and said “Congratulations Goenkars! Goenkars and AAP Goa fought hand in hand ! The result? Today the Goa Govt has announced a subsidy to prevent further rise of electricity prices. Without a Single MLA in the Assembly AAP has stopped the menace of rising Electricity prices in Goa. I appeal to Goenkars- Change your Govt, we will ensure you get free 24/7 Electricity”
Speaking to the press in Panaji Adv Surel Tilve AAP Goa Vice President said that the announcement was a victory that belonged to every Goenkars. “Together with AAP Goenkars have forced this BJP Govt to abandon some of it’s looting ways. Goenkars came out in large numbers to attend Meetings of AAP’s Veej Andolan, and even larger numbers of Goenkars have supported Arvind Kejriwal’s first Guarantee of Free 24/7 power to Goenkars, waiving of old bills and free power to Goan farmers. said Adv Surel Tilve AAP Goa Vice President.
