PANAJI: The major drug seizure reported from Chicolna-Bogmalo is yet another chilling reminder that Goa is fast turning into a Narco State under the corrupt and complicit regime of Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and the BJP.
Despite repeated drug hauls, arrests, and ongoing smuggling activities, the BJP Government remains a mute spectator – or worse, a willing partner in this destruction of Goa’s social fabric.
“It is no longer just about negligence; it is a clear nexus between the drug mafia and those in power.’ said Patkar
Who is protecting these smugglers? Who is allowing drugs to flow freely into our coastal villages and tourist hubs? The same BJP leaders who preach about “sanskriti” and “clean governance” are silently enabling the worst kind of criminal networks to thrive.
This isn’t just an attack on Goa’s image – it is an attack on our children, our youth, and our future.
Goa Pradesh Congress Committee demands: court-monitored NIA probe into the entire drug nexus operating in Goa. Immediate suspension and investigation of any police officials or politicians suspected of links with drug dealers.
“A white paper from the BJP Government on all drug seizures in the last five years and action taken thereafter,” he said
Patkar said that Congress will not allow Goa to become a playground for drug lords and a haven for crime.
“If the Sawant Government continues shielding these activities, Congress Party will launch a statewide agitation to expose and dismantle this unholy alliance between politics and drugs,” he added
