PANAJI: Congress Media Department Chairman Amarnath Panjikar said that Digambar Kamat has the distinction of being the People Friendly Government.
Reacting sharply to the comments of Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant who had said that “Goa saw its worst days during Digambar Kamat’s term as Chief Minister”, Amarnath Panjikar blamed the Chief Minister for trying to divert attention of the people from core issues of failed administration which has resulted in sufferings of people.
“Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant must realise that it is not the people but BJP & late Manohar Parrikar who had the worst days from 2007 to 2012 with their two failed attempts of toppling the Congress Government,” charged Panjikar.
The power hungry and greedy Manohar Parrikar had planned two toppling bids to grab power from the most democratic Chief Minister Digambar Kamat. Unfortunately, both the attempts were failed as people had complete faith and trust on Digambar Kamat led Government, said Amarnath Panjikar.
He said the Congress Government under then CM Digambar Kamat bowed down before the people of Goa and canceled the Special Economic Zones (SEZ).
“We gave the decision making right on selecting Medium of Instructions to the parents. Congress Government always respected sentiments of the people,” he ssid.
Congress Government under Digambar Kamat established Tiatr Academy in Goa, Goa Vision-2035 Document was prepared, Goemche Daiz Scheme was initiated, South Goa Distrct Hospital project was initiated, South Goa District Collectorate Complex was completed, Central Library Building and Sanskruti Bhavan, District Library at Navelim, Kala Bhavan at Sancoale are some of the projects which were initiated by the then government, reminded Amarnath Panjikar.
“Our Governments in the past created employment opportunities to the youth, encouraged art and culture, gave financial help to local film producers etc. Unfortunately, BJP Government after coming to power in 2012 failed on all fronts,” said Amarnath Panjikar.
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and his cheer leaders like BJP President Sadanand Tanawade and Siddharth Kuncolienkar must realise that BJP Government has failed under the Out of Order Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant before making baseless statements.
“The truth in our leader Digambar Kamat’s statement has hit the BJP very badly and it prompted Chief Minister and others to react in a face saving exercise,” Amarnath Panjikar said.
