Panaji: Congress Party is all set to face the Elections and win both Seats in Goa. BJP is rattled with the Intelligence Reports which show Congress winning in South and stand 50:50 chance in North Goa. We are confident that we will win North as well, stated Congress President Amit Patkar.
He was addressing a press conference at Congress House in the presence of Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha, Quepem MLA Altone D’Costa and Aldona MLA Carlos Ferreira.
“Sacrifice & Contribution to Indian Freedom Struggle & Goa Liberation Movement by Congress Leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Pt.Nehru, Sardar Patel & Goans like Puruxottam Kakodkar & others made it possible for Dr. Pramod Sawant to say he is born in Independent India & Liberated Goa,” said Amit Patkar while reading out a long list of various milestones achieved by Congress Governments in the past.
Congress has glorious history of participation in Freedom Movement, Nationalisation of Railways, Hosting First Asian Games, Establishing Indian Institute of Technology, Lalit Kala Academy, All India Institute of Medical Sciences and various other initiatives which helped in building our Nation.
National Institute of Virology was establised in Pune in 1952 which helped during Covid Pandemic.
Green Revolution, Setting up of First Computer in India, Opinion Poll of Goa, Nationalisation of Banks, White Revolution, Liberation of Bangladesh, India’s First Nuclear Test, all these happened during Congress Government regime, said Amit Patkar.
“I want CM Dr. Pramod Sawant to know that First Indian Sattelite Aryabhatta was launched in 1975, CHOWGM Retreat happened in Goa in 1983, India sent its First Astronaut Rakesh Sharma in space in 1984, IT Revolution, Statehood to Goa, Globalisation of Indian Economy are few more milestones of Congress Governments,” he said.
Recognition to Konkani, 73rd and 74th Amendment to Constitution empowering Panchayats and Municipalities, Right to Information Act, MGNREGA, Launching of Chandrayan, Right to Education Act, National Food Security Act, Launching of Mars Orbiter Mission also happned during Congress regime, he continued.
“After BJP came to power in 2014, Congress is fighting against Murder of Democracy by BJP by encouraging Defections. Bharat Jodo Yatra was for spreading Love and Unity of India and Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra is to empower Youths, Women, Farmers, Marginalised Sector and OBC, SC and ST,” said Amit Patkar.

Once Election Code of Conduct comes into force, Government cannot do any Promotional Events like Viksit Bharat Campaign. BJP Scarfs & Caps cannot be used in Government Functions. Election Commission must stop this or we will go to Court” said Adv. Carlos Ferreira.
