SANGUEM: The BJP workers have expressed displeasure over the removal of Navnath Naik as the BJP Sanguem block president.
Naik mentioned during the press briefing that the party’s state president Sadanand Tanawade has contacted him and said that he will be promoted and will be given bigger responsibility.”
Speaking further, Navnath Naik said that in 2012, when they walked around the constituency with Vasudev Gaokar and Subhash Phal Desai, why didn’t today’s leaders take action against us as they took anti-party action.
“No one has a right to remove someone as a party worker, as what president said that I am removed. It is our role to make the party bigger in difficult situations,” he said.
“Subhash Phal Desai had joined BJP from Congress; now, we are questioning for the candidature of Savitri Kavalekar, at present she is on the post as State Vice President of BJP Mahila Morcha. Seeing this action, BJP has become a party of Desai community party,” alleged Naik.
He said the party cannot take decisions arbitrarily.
“Why is the BJP ticket being given back only to Subhash Phal Desai, who lost the last election?” Naik questioned.
He further said that he has been with party for last
17 years and does not need to prove the party loyalty.
“We have given sweat and blood for the party work, now someone is teaching us what is right and loyalty of the party,” he said.
ST Morcha president Mahesh Gaokar said that the party was ignoring karyakartas for just one man.
“Keeping in mind, we are working to bring together the old party workers,” he said.
“If you give a ticket to anyone other than Savitri Kavalekar, the party will lose the workers,” he said.
He said that what Manohar Parrikar has done for party workers is no longer the scenario today.
Mahesh Gaokar said that the party should first find out how the five councillors were elected in the responsibility given to the general party workers against the Phaldesai, who lost all the three seats.
Many prominent party workers from the constituency including Sadanand Gawde, Prashant Gaokar, Sudesh Bhandari, Chandrakant Gaokar, Santosh Gaokar, Janu Zore, Anand Naik and Dilip Pauskar were present at the press conference.
