Voters Back Development: Khaunte
Tourism Minister and Porvorim MLA Rohan A. Khaunte thanked voters for what he termed a clear mandate for development. Speaking to the media, Khaunte said the electorate had decisively rejected negative campaigning and reaffirmed its faith in progress-oriented governance.
He claimed that Congress suffered a complete defeat across Goa in the Zilla Panchayat elections, adding that voters had embraced the vision of “Viksit Bharat” and “Swayampurna Goa”, once again placing their trust in the double-engine government.
Khaunte noted that the Succoro Zilla Panchayat constituency comprises four panchayats spread across three Assembly segments, where the BJP candidate secured nearly 60 per cent of the votes, while in Penha de França, the BJP polled around 67 per cent.
Salgaonkar, Asnodkar Thank Voters
Reacting to his victory, Sandeep Salgaonkar said the BJP’s win was the result of extensive door-to-door campaigns and corner meetings. He described the mandate as unprecedented and credited the development works carried out in Porvorim under the leadership of Minister Rohan Khaunte.
Salgaonkar assured that he would work wholeheartedly for the all-round development of Porvorim under Khaunte’s guidance.
Similarly, Amit Asnodkar, the victorious BJP candidate from Succoro, expressed gratitude to voters, stating that the mandate was a clear endorsement of development. He assured that he would actively contribute to Porvorim’s overall growth under the guidance of the Porvorim MLA.
Asnodkar added that voters had once again reposed faith in the BJP and rejected the Congress not only in Succoro and Penha de França, but across Goa.
