PORVORIM: With just eight days remaining for the District Panchayat elections, BJP candidate Sandeep Salgaonkar has emerged as a strong frontrunner in the Penha de França Zilla Panchayat constituency of Porvorim.
Salgaonkar has undertaken extensive door-to-door campaigning across key areas including Alto Torda, the Housing Colony, Kawlekar Supermarket area, Journalist Colony, Vijaynagar, among others. As part of his outreach, he has also conducted nearly 20 corner meetings so far.
The impressive turnout at these meetings reflects an enthusiastic response from voters. Addressing supporters, Salgaonkar said he has successfully completed the first round of campaigning and noted that a growing number of supporters are actively joining his campaign, providing fresh energy and motivation.
Backed by Porvorim MLA and Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte, Sarpanch Sapnil Chodankar, and several Panchayat members, Salgaonkar currently appears to enjoy a clear advantage. His campaign highlights the development initiatives undertaken under the BJP’s “double-engine government” at the Centre and in the State.
Along with assuring effective delivery of government welfare schemes, Salgaonkar has been informing voters about the various development works carried out during the BJP’s tenure.
Expressing confidence of victory on December 20, Salgaonkar said voters recognize his long-standing contribution to ward-level and Panchayat-level development throughout his political journey.
