PANAJI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday announced its second list of nominees for the forthcoming Zilla Panchayat (ZP) elections in Goa, adding 10 more names to the roster. With this announcement, the party has now finalized 29 candidates across the state.
In North Goa, the new entrants include Manisha Santosh Korkankar (Arambol – Women’s quota), Mahesh Manohar Govekar (Siolim), Subhash Krishna Morajkar (Aldona), Narayan Ladu Mandrekar (Anjuna – OBC), Gauri Pramod Kamat (Chimbel – Women’s quota), and Paulina Oliveira, also known as Francis Po (St. Lawrence – Women/OBC).
For South Goa, the candidates announced are Rupesh Ramnath Desai (Dharbandora), Rajeshree Rajesh Gaonkar (Rivona – Women/ST), Anjali Arjun Velip (Barcem – Women’s quota), and Ajit, also referred to as Ajay Shantaram Lolyekar (Poinguinim).
This marks the party’s second phase of candidate announcements ahead of the ZP elections scheduled for December 20, as BJP looks to consolidate its presence in both North and South Goa.
