PANAJI: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee today launched a 60 day “Samvidhan Rakshak Abhiyaan” to safeguard our Constitution.
Eminent lawyer, Constitutional Expert Adv. Cleofato Coutinho delivered the keynote address. GPCC President Amit Patkar, Quepem MLA Alton Dcosta, former MP Francisco Sardinha, Senior Vice President M K Shaikh and other leaders were present
BJP’s ‘Ek hai toh safe hai’ slogan is nothing but an open threat to minorities, ST, SC and OBCs, and those who speak against their failed policies. Their slogan will not work in Goa as we have preserved brotherhood. If our constitution is safe, then we are safe. Let us safeguard it.
At all the tough times, when some non-state actors tried to create communal tensions in Goa, we handled it calmly and prudently. Thus we have preserved our brotherhood. Hence no divisive force can break our unity.
The Constitution has given us the right of freedom of speech. But under the BJP’s rule, if we speak they take revenge and try to silence our voice.
Vindictive politics is in the blood of RSS and BJP. We have seen this when our leader Rahul Gandhi was disqualified as Member of Parliament.
To achieve the goal of “Opposition Mukt Bharat”, BJP without wasting time takes action, but fails to disqualify those who embrace them illegally by defecting.
By encouraging defection and giving clean chits to defectors, BJP is disrespecting the constitution. Every Goan knows this…
Currently we are reeling under the threat of ‘cash for job’. Why threat? Because it is corrupting the whole process of administration and thus functioning gets affected.
When someone pays for a job, they will always indulge in bribes to recover money, which they have paid for the job. Thus, citizens who come with their work in the government offices suffer.
When we raised this issue and protested. The BJP government used government machinery to silence our voice. Police and magistrates are working at the behest of BJP leaders. Puppets are used to create fear among opposition. BJP is using all tactics to divert the pressing issue of cash for jobs.
Fearing we will expose this government over cash for job issue, now the government has barred us from holding protests in Panaji. This is unacceptable and unconstitutional.
Be it parliament or assembly, oppositions are not given enough time to raise people’s apprehensions and problems they face. In Goa, BJP curtails the assembly sessions. Is this democracy? Are they following the constitution? Absolutely No…
Common man has to knock on the doors of courts to get justice, because the BJP government is ignoring them. Legislative Assembly Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar is himself not happy with the progress of ministers. This proves that this government has failed on all aspects.
