PANAJI: Pertaining to cases of Black Fungus reported at GMC, the Health Minister Vishwajit Rane today said that his department is in touch with expert doctors in the country to get the best appropriate treatment protocol.
On the instructions & directions of CM Dr. Pramod Sawant, the health minister held a meeting with all the Head of Departments of GMC for their inputs to further improve our treatment protocols, health infrastructure, dealing with cases of black fungus and steps to be taken to ensure appropriate treatment for patients up to 18years of age.
“I would like to mention that our team headed by Dr Bandekar (Dean of GMCH) are treating them with the best and appropriate treatment protocol. We are also in touch with expert doctors in the country to see how best we can deal with this,” he tweeted.
He further said that they have decided to start an ICU for Paediatrics in the Super Speciality Block and strengthen our technical staff.
“We have deliberated on these touchpoints to prepare an action plan and present it to the CM.
Meanwhile, Health Minister said that doctors are trying their best to ensure improved facilities along with focus on quality care. We will continue to fight this virus with our objective of giving quality care and reducing mortalities in the state
