CANACONA: As a part of its annual Tree Plantation Drive, Shristhal Biodiversity Management Committee organised the Van-Mahotsav programme at Shree Mallikarjune Devasthan, Shristhal Canacona.
There are 200 plants, mostly fruit-bearing and medicinal plants such as Kokam, Aanar, Bel, Sandal, Custard Apple, Anant, Champak, Neem, Baya, lime, etc. were planted, and Saplings were distributed to the various devotees.
The tree plantation drive started at the hand of Shree Mallikarjun Devasthan President Vithoba Desai, in the presence of Secretary Rajendra Bhagat, Attorney Pramod Naik Gaonkar, and Treasurer Sachin Desai.
Also present was Shrishthal panchayat Administrator Pradip Naik.
BMC Chairman Vinay Tubki., Members Shirish Pai, Damodar Chari, Chanda Desai, Anjali Gaonkar, Tejas Naik Gaonkar, Pratap Naik Gaonkar, Satyawan Naik Gaonkar, Ex Sarpanch Prashant Desai and Social worker Jaidip Naik Gaonkar and Navjyot Naik Gaonkar distributed the plants to Committee as well as the Devotees.
