Quepem: A 56-year-old man was found floating in a bandhara (water body) at Bhat, Quepem, in the early hours of 02 January 2026.
According to police sources, at around 12.30 am, Quepem Police received a phone call from Inacio Carvalho, a resident of Ambaulim, Quepem, informing that Domingos Carvalho (56), a resident of Santamol, Ambaulim, Quepem, was seen floating in the bandhara.
Upon receiving the information, police took cognisance of the matter and initiated necessary procedures. The dead body has been preserved at South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, for conducting further medico-legal formalities to ascertain the exact cause of death.
Further enquiry in the matter is being carried out by LPSI Rifha Barretto of Quepem Police Station.
