BICHOLIM: A 19-year-old Bolero tempo driver has been arrested for fleeing after causing a collision at the Adhar Hospital junction in Kulan, Bicholim, on Sunday morning.
According to a complaint filed by Head Constable Ganesh Parwar (HC-5723) of Bicholim Police Station following an enquiry into MV Accident No. 101/2025, the incident occurred around 10:00 am on December 7. The accused, driving a Bolero tempo (GA-03-W-3314), allegedly drove in a rash and negligent manner while heading from Togeshwari Temple towards Adhar Hospital.
Police stated that upon reaching the hospital junction, the Bolero rammed into the front side of a Hyundai Eon (GA-04-C-6694) that was approaching the hospital from the main road junction. Instead of stopping, the Bolero driver allegedly fled the scene without informing the police or checking for injuries.
During the investigation, the driver was traced and identified as Yeshwant Shankarappa Rathod (19), a resident of Revoda, Bardez. He was arrested on December 8 at 2:56 pm.
Further investigation is being carried out by HC Ganesh Parwar of Bicholim Police Station.
