FARMAGUDI: Over the past several months, bomb threats have been received through calls and text messages targeting railways, schools, airports, temples and celebrities.
Meanwhile, the IIT campus in Farmagudi was in turmoil this morning after police received a letter of bomb planting. Police have evacuated the campus as a precautionary measure.
Police have managed to evacuate all 600 students from the campus. A large force has been deployed from the Ponda police.
According to sources, there is anxiety among the students as the examination is scheduled to start from 2 pm today.
Fire brigade personnel and ambulances have rushed to the scene.
This is the first threat to any educational institution since the bomb threats targeting Goa airports.
Meanwhile, police are investigating the source of the anonymous letter.
