VERNA: A Verna resident has complained that his Royal Enfield motorcycle was misappropriated after it was borrowed by an acquaintance and later allegedly passed on to another person, with both now blaming each other and refusing to reveal the vehicle’s whereabouts.
According to police, the complainant, Sudesh Kerkar, a resident of Verna, stated that the incident occurred prior to 31/05/2024 at Lovesh Arcade building, Castelvaddo, Nagoa, Verna. He alleged that the accused, Safhan Khan, a resident of Alto Dabolim, had borrowed the Royal Enfield motorcycle from him for personal use.
However, instead of returning the vehicle, the accused allegedly concealed the motorcycle and later handed it over to another individual, identified as Shabaz Shaikh, a resident of Vasco. Police said that both individuals are now allegedly blaming each other and have failed to disclose the location of the motorcycle.
The complainant has alleged that the act amounts to dishonest misappropriation of his motorcycle, causing him financial loss and inconvenience.
Based on the complaint, Verna police have registered an offence under section 316(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Mahesh Bhomkar of Verna police station, under the supervision of PI Anand Shirodkar and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam. Police are attempting to trace the motorcycle and verify the role of both individuals in the case.
