PANJIM: Progressive Front of Goa (PFG) today has has mocked Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant for his directionless and insensitive statement that Goa would be borrowing a sum of Rs 100 cr to fund its fun filled extravaganza to mark its 60th Liberation year.
“There has been no white paper on revival plan from the Government especially with regards to huge job losses that have occurred in the aftermath of the pandemic. An eye wash economic revival committee report is not yet discussed with the stakeholders nor there has been any steps initiated on complying with the recommendations of the said report,” said Mahesh Mahambre
He said, “Many business enterprises have closed down. There has been no support from Goa Government except to the Casinos, who are their foe turned friends post 2012. Moratorium on loans is an eye wash and postponement of the funeral. Moreover, interest continues to be levied for the period extended under the moratorium. There has been no interest or emi subsidy from the Goa Government to any sector,”
He further said that re-starting of mining has been a contentious issue and till date our CM and other BJP leaders have only been selling stories to maintain peace.and that the PM during the mega rally held in 2014/15 at merces openly assured a full proof solution to the mining industry and its dependants if it is voted to power, but till date not an inch of positive development have occurred on that front.
Meanwhile, PFG has demanded that Goenkars don’t need this extravagant tamasha, they need jobs, they need income for their livelihood, they need security and respect, they need mhadei and mollem and lastly they need their beautiful goa restored with dignity.
