Panjim: Shaheen C.K. and Ritika Chelluri will clash with Mayank Raj and Yasmin Sayed in the Mixed Doubles final of the BPS State Badminton Ranking Tournament 2025, following thrilling semifinal victories by both pairs. The tournament, organised by BPS Sports Club, Margao, in association with the Goa Badminton Association and the Sports Authority of Goa, continued to showcase high-quality badminton at the Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium, Navelim, on Sunday.
In the Mixed Doubles semifinals, Mayank Raj and Yasmin Sayed overcame Rudra Phadte and Minoshka Pereira 20-22, 21-19, 21-16 in a tightly contested match. Shaheen C.K. and Ritika Chelluri registered a straight-games victory against Aryaman Saraf and Sufiya Shaikh, 21-16, 21-16, setting the stage for an exciting title clash.
The Men’s Doubles final will see Aswin Mannambalath and Shaheen C.K. take on Aryaman Saraf and Rudra Phadte (2). Mannambalath and Shaheen stunned top seeds Arjun Fallary and Tejan Fallary 21-14, 22-20, while Saraf and Phadte secured their final berth by defeating Ayaan Shaikh and Mayank Raj 21-14, 21-16.
In the singles events, top seed Nishant Shenai continued his impressive run by defeating Yash Desai 21-11, 21-9. Second seed Arjun Bhagat secured a 21-18, 21-18 win over Devansh Sakpal to reach the Men’s Singles final. The Women’s Singles final will feature Sufiya Shaikh against Anjana Kumari (4). Sufiya upset top seed Janhavi Mahale 21-19, 21-11, while Anjana defeated second seed Shreya Mehta 21-14, 21-12.
In Women’s Doubles, Shreya Mehta and Yasmin Sayed booked their spot in the final with a 21-13, 21-15 win over Anjana Kumari and Janhavi Virnodkar (3). Sufiya Shaikh and Tabassum Shaikh pulled off a thrilling 21-16, 25-23 victory against Ritika Chelluri and Riya Haldankar (2) to set up the final showdown.
The tournament continues to highlight emerging talents and intense competition across all categories, promising exciting finals ahead.
