Madgaon: In a step towards improving accessibility and inclusive infrastructure, Braille signages for visually impaired passengers have been installed at Madgaon Railway Station in collaboration with the Kamalaksh Naik Foundation.
The initiative was inaugurated by Goa’s Minister for Social Welfare, River Navigation and Drinking Water, Subhash Phal Dessai, in the presence of officials of Konkan Railway Corporation Limited and other dignitaries.
On the occasion, the minister also donated four wheelchairs for the benefit of passengers at the railway station.
According to officials, the Braille signages have been installed at key locations across the station to help visually impaired passengers identify important facilities and navigate the premises more independently.
The initiative is part of ongoing efforts by Konkan Railway, in line with the vision of Indian Railways, to enhance accessibility and improve facilities for passengers with disabilities.
Konkan Railway stated that it remains committed to strengthening passenger amenities and promoting inclusive infrastructure to ensure accessible travel for all.
