CANDOLIM: A 54-year-old British national residing at a Candolim resort was declared dead on arrival at PHC Candolim on Wednesday evening, police said.
According to police, the incident came to light on 3 December 2025 at 19:12 hrs after the medical officer at PHC Candolim reported that Mr. Ian William Griffith, currently staying at Aldeia Santa Rita Resort, Dando, Candolim, had been brought in dead.
During enquiries, Griffith’s wife, Nicola Jayne Griffith, also a British national, informed police that her husband had been suffering from nerve-related issues and joint pains, which often caused episodes of violent behaviour. She stated that on 3 December 2025 around 15:00 hrs, he was found lying on the floor of Room No. H4 at the resort.
Police said no foul play is suspected at this stage. The FRRO Panaji has been requested to inform the respective embassy. The deceased’s wife is currently present in Goa.
The body has been preserved at the GMC morgue, Bambolim, and further investigation is underway.
