ANJUNA: Anjuna Police have registered an unnatural death case (UD No. 46/2025) after a 54-year-old British national was found dead in his rented room near Purple Martini, behind Baba Guest House, Anjuna, on September 2, 2025.
Police said they received a call from the Panaji PCR around 2.01 pm stating that a person had locked himself inside a room at Baba Restaurant and was not responding. A police team led by PSI Saish Shetgaonkar rushed to the spot and broke open the door, where they found the body of Stephen Matthew Stone lying on the floor.
The body has been sent to GMC Bambolim morgue for preservation and post-mortem examination. Police have also initiated steps to trace the deceased’s family members and inform the British Embassy.
