New Delhi: A suspected smuggler was killed and a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan injured during a confrontation near the Indo-Bangladesh border in Krishnaganj.
According to officials, the injured smuggler was rushed to the nearby Krishnaganj hospital but was declared dead on arrival. The BSF jawan, who sustained injuries in the incident, is currently undergoing treatment at the same hospital.
Following the clash, a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at the local police station. The body of the deceased smuggler has also been handed over to the police for further investigation and legal formalities.
Authorities have tightened security in the area as inquiries into the incident continue.
