PORVORIM: While welcoming the Union Budget 2025-26, the Tourism Minister Rohan it reaffirms the Government of India’s commitment to tourism as a key driver of employment and economic growth.
He said that Goa stands to benefit immensely from the focus on skill development, MUDRA loans for homestays, and improved tourism infrastructure for key destinations.
“The Budget’s emphasis on spiritual and wellness tourism aligns with Goa’s strengths, while enhanced connectivity and streamlined e-visa facilities will further boost international arrivals,” said Khaunte
He also said that the government remains committed to working with all stakeholders to make Goa a global tourism leader.
Additionally, Khaunte said that the announcements related to the IT sector are promising.
“The focus on digital infrastructure, skill training in emerging technologies, and incentives for startups will create new opportunities for India’s and Goa’s youth and entrepreneurs,” he added
The Minister said that strengthening digital connectivity will further enhance India’s appeal as a hub for remote work and innovation-driven enterprises which will greatly benefit Goa too.
