Canacona: Sports, Art & Culture and Tribal Welfare Minister and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar on Saturday welcomed the Union Budget 2026–27, stating that it moves the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047 closer to reality.
Tawadkar said the Budget is based on four major pillars—poor, farmers, women and youth—while also providing strong impetus to education, healthcare, infrastructure and industry to boost economic growth and strengthen self-reliance.
He noted that the Union Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid special emphasis on fiscal discipline, capital expenditure, manufacturing, MSME growth and healthcare. “Support to coconut and cashew sectors will accelerate infrastructure development and strengthen coastal economies,” Tawadkar said.
During the presentation of the Union Budget by Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Tawadkar, along with BJP karyakartas of the Canacona constituency, watched the live Budget session and deliberated on the Viksit Bharat Budget.
BJP Canacona President Prabhakar Gaonkar, General Secretary Diwakar Pagi, Poinguinim Sarpanch Smt. Savita Tawadkar, Shrithal Sarpanch Smt. Sejal Gaonkar, panchayat members, CMC councillors and party workers were present.
Tawadkar congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for steering the country towards the goal of Viksit Bharat.
