VASCO: In a shocking incident, unidentified burglars broke into a residence in Pale, Velsao, during the early hours of 26th August, making off with gold and platinum jewellery valued at approximately ₹1.95 lakh. The burglary occurred between 2:00 AM and 3:15 AM, according to a complaint filed by Pramila Rodrigues, the homeowner.
The burglars reportedly gained access to the house by entering through an open gallery on the first floor. Once inside, they proceeded to the bedroom, where they targeted various items of valuable jewellery stored in cupboards and on a bedroom table. The stolen items include Four gold chains, Seven gold bangles, a gold Corolla set, including one pendant, a pair of earrings, and a ring, a black stone set, including one gold pendant, a pair of earrings, and a ring, a platinum jewellery set, including a necklace, pendant, pair of earrings, and a ring, Two wedding gold rings, a gold cross pendant with a green stone and a pair of gold earrings, a gold pendant, a gold earring with pearls, and a gold ring, a gold pendant with a pair of earrings, gold pendant with two earrings and a pair of earrings and a gold ring.
The Verna Police Station has registered an offence against unknown persons under sections 305 of BNS and PSI Nikhil Desai, has launched an investigation into the burglary under the supervision of PI Melson Colaco and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Salim Shaikh.
The incident has left the local residents in shock, raising concerns about safety and security in the area. Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities as they intensify efforts to solve the case and recover the stolen items.
