Verna: Verna police have launched an investigation after unidentified persons allegedly broke into a flat at Zuari Nagar, Sancoale, and decamped with gold ornaments and wristwatches worth ₹8.5 lakh.
The complaint was lodged by Raj Dulari Rana, a resident of Mangoor Hill, Vasco, who reported that between September 9 at 3.30 pm and October 18 at 6 pm, some unknown culprits broke open the main door of her flat and committed the theft. The stolen items include two gold bangles weighing 40.18 grams, a mangalsutra of 30 grams, two finger rings and a pair of earrings together weighing 15 grams, and two wristwatches.
Following the complaint, Verna police registered an offence under Sections 331(1)(2) and 305(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The investigation is being carried out by PSI Mahesh Bhokmar under the supervision of PI Anand Shirodkar and overall guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
Police teams are verifying leads to identify and trace the accused involved in the burglary.
