Margao: A burglary was reported at Dando, Navelim, Salcete, following a complaint lodged by Nancy Fernandes, a resident of the area, stating that her house was broken into and valuables were stolen during the late hours of Christmas.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred between 11.50 pm on December 24, 2023, and 1.30 am on December 25, 2025, when an unknown accused allegedly broke open the rear door of the complainant’s house at Dando, Navelim. The accused reportedly committed theft of a Citizen Eco-Drive Navihawk wristwatch valued at around Rs 1 lakh, cash of approximately Rs 50,000 kept in a piggy bank, 500 US dollars, and a CCTV DVR. The total value of the stolen property is estimated to be around Rs 2 lakh.
Margao Town Police have registered a case in this connection. Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Subhash Gaonkar of Margao Town Police Station.
