MAPUSA: Police have registered a case against a bus driver for allegedly driving in a rash and negligent manner and causing serious injuries to a pedestrian at the New KTC Bus Stand in Mapusa.
Mapusa Police Station registered FIR No. 100/25 under sections 281, 125, and 125(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, based on a complaint lodged by Head Constable Keshav Naik.
According to police, on 29 June 2025 at around 6.30 pm, accused driver Girish Khandu Kamble (32), employed with Vijayanand Travels, was operating passenger bus GA-07-T-2539 inside the New KTC Bus Stand premises when he allegedly drove the vehicle in a rash and negligent manner, endangering human life and without proper care and caution.
The bus reportedly hit pedestrian Nagila Venkatmanideep (21), a resident of Musheerabad, Hyderabad, Telangana, causing him serious bodily injuries.
Investigation is in progress.
