CALANGUTE: In the continuing drive against narcotic drugs, the Calangute Police team booked 2 Narcotic cases and seized drugs 1.17 lakhs.
In the first case, one Devesh Jairam Shirodkar, aged 30 years, a Taxi driver and resident of Simwaddo, Anjuna was apprehended in the early morning of 9th March, 2021 for being in illegal possession of 207 grams Ganja worth Rs 20, 700/- which was found in the White Wagon R car bearing GA 03 T 4846 driven by him.
The accused person is a tourist taxi driver The accused person has been remanded to 14 days Judicial custody.
In the second case booked by the Calangute Police, one Akhilesh Kumar, aged 25 years, a native of Uttar Pradesh was apprehended in the early morning of 9 th March, 2021 at Calangute for being in illegal possession of 865 grams Ganja worth Rs 86,500/- which was found in a Dio scooter rode by him.
The accused person has been remanded to 14 days Judicial custody. Further investigation is in progress in both the above two cases under the supervision of SDPO Porvorim Mr Edwin Colaco and SP North Mr Utkrisht Prasoon.
