CALANGUTE: The Calangute Police Station has successfully cracked a murder case which was recently registered in Calangute PS.
On Friday, at 18:51 hours, a complaint was filed by John Gracious Fernandes regarding the murder of his relative, Ms. Deodita Fernandes, aged 64, at Benson Apartments, Naikavaddo, Calangute.
Acting swiftly, a police team led by PI Paresh G Naik, comprising PSI Akshay Parsekar, PSI Kiran Naik, PSI Parag Parekh, HC-496 Vidhyanand Amonkar, PC-6118 Amir Garad, PC-6644 Vijay Naik, PC-7117 Bhagwan Palyekar, PC-7119 Ganpat Tiloji, PC-7283 Raj Parab, and PC-7904 Pranay Gawas was deployed to collect intelligence and apprehend the accused with the help of Anjuna P.S..
The team’s diligent efforts led to the arrest of two accused persons, Aaquib @ Aman Shaukat Khalfe native of Ratnagiri and Nikhil Chandrakant Raje r/o Mapusa n/o Pune Maharashtra, at one Petrol Pump in Anjuna.
Preliminary investigations suggest a possible motive of the commission money dispute over the sale of the victim’s property in Calangute.
The accused, identified as property brokers, had transferred funds from the victim’s account to their own after the commission of a crime and were withdrawing money at the petrol pump in Anjuna where they were apprehended by the team of Calangute Police Station.
Further investigation is underway with PI Calangute Shri Paresh G. Naik under the supervision of SDPO Porvorim Shri Vishwesh Karpe under the overall supervision of SP North Shri Akshat Kaushal, IPS.
