CALANGUTE: The Calangute Police have instructed all establishments along the Calangute–Candolim coastal stretch to appoint security staff exclusively through officially registered security agencies as the tourist season intensifies.
In a meeting attended by DySP Vishwesh Karpe, SDPO Porvorim, Calangute Police officials, security agency representatives, and tourism stakeholders, authorities outlined key safety guidelines and operational do’s and don’ts for the 2025–26 season.
Businesses were reminded to coordinate closely with the police to ensure a secure and hassle-free environment for both visitors and residents. Officials said the directive is part of efforts to bolster law and order during the busy months and uphold Calangute’s standing as a top tourist hub.
Around 150 hotel owners, lodging operators, and other tourism-sector representatives participated in the briefing, with an additional session held for shack owners.
