Calangute: Calangute Police have registered a case following the death of Vaibhavbhai Hasmukhbhai Narigara (24), a native of Bhavnagar, Gujarat, who was undergoing treatment at GMC Bambolim.
According to police, a wireless message was received from the GMC Casualty at around 7:20 a.m. on October 30, 2025, informing that the patient admitted under MLC No. 9388/2025 in Ward No. 142 had expired while undergoing treatment.
Earlier, on October 26, 2025, police had received a message from CF GMC Bambolim stating that Narigara had been admitted as a case of Ratol poisoning. Preliminary enquiry has revealed that the deceased was reportedly under depression and mental stress after taking loans from several individuals and being unable to repay them, leading him to consume Ratol poison.
Police have stated that no foul play is suspected in the incident. The body has been preserved at the GMC Morgue, and post-mortem examination is awaited.
