CALANGUTE: Calangute Village Panchayat Sarpanch Joseph Sequeira today said that he has taken an appointment with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to discuss bad roads in panchayat jurisdiction.
“Have made an appointment with CM to discuss Road Conditions, PWD is not doing anything. Panchayat is constructing Roads and Drains,” said Sequeira.
He further said that waterlogging was witnessed in front of Calangute Church as PWD failed to construct a reverse drainage system.
It may be recalled that Calangute sarpanch had slammed the PWD and claimed that in the last seven-eight years tourism had declined in the coastal village because of bad roads and added that tourists had back with bad memories.
Sequeira had also taken potshots at the PWD Minister alleging that he had neglected Calangute.
Sarpanch Joseph Sequeira highlighted the collaborative approach of the project, noting that a comprehensive plan would be developed and finalised with input from all stakeholders before construction begins.
“We are committed to creating a well-designed and functional space that reflects the vibrancy of Calangute,” Sequeira said.
“The inclusion of CCTV cameras will also enhance safety and monitoring at this crucial junction,” he added.
