CANACONA: Alleging no local cooperation opposition Councillor of Canacona Municipal Council, Shubham Komarpant visited Minister for Sports, Art and Culture Govind Gaude along with trust members of Shree Ravi Charitable trust and handed over memorandum on various demands from Canacona not given attention locally.
In the memorandum, CMC’s Patnem Ward Councillor Shubham Komarkant, sought early completion and commissioning of Shristhal Ground for public of Canacona. This ground though completed some years ago, is not yet formally opened to the public, but youngsters organiserses football and cricket matches on the ground without official intimation as no authority neither panchcyat nor SAG is in its possession, informed sources.
Komarphant further demanded each of the government high schools at Agonda, Sadolxem and Gaondongrim should be built with playgrounds, as these government schools do not have their own.
Komarpant who was accomplanied by four other trustees of Shri Ravi Charitable Trust,, demanded to build a new walking track for the people of Canacona as many of citizens go for Morning and Evenings walks along the Canacona Bypass Highway )NH66) which at times and prove dangerous with vehicles running in high speeds.
As an Arts & Culture Minister, Komarpant demanded from Gaude to organise various talent shows in Canacona Ravindra Bhavan so that people can improve and showcase their talents.
‘Canacona is in need of one fully equipped sports complex, which should ave everything it including a swimming pool, Indoor Courts for indoor matches, Gymnasium, etc’, Komarpant said requesting the minister to fulfill all aspirations and demands of Canacona people.
