CANACONA: In response to public grievances raised during his recent visit to Canacona, South Goa MP Capt. Viriato Fernandes met with representatives from the taluka during his Zero Hour Session held on Thursday in Margao.
Residents of Canacona had earlier highlighted several pressing issues, including poor mobile network connectivity and irregular, scant water supply affecting the entire taluka.
The Canacona delegation included Yeshwant (Dhillon) Naik Dessai, Sarpanch of Gaondongrim Panchayat; Daya (Umesh) Gaonkar, former Sarpanch of Khotigao Panchayat; and Gaspar Coutinho, General Secretary of the South Goa District Congress Committee.
During the session, MP Capt. Fernandes engaged in discussions with officials from BSNL and the Public Works Department (PWD) to address these long-standing issues. The interaction took place in the presence of the Canacona delegation, who reiterated the urgency of improving mobile connectivity and ensuring a consistent water supply in the region.
The MP assured the delegation of immediate follow-up with relevant departments to resolve the concerns raised by the people of Canacona.
