CANACONA: Canacona Lions and Leo club celebrated teachers day by felicitating three teachers for their dedicated work\, meritorious students who passed out during last academic year were also felicititated during the occasion.
The teachers day celebrations coincided with the visit of the
Region Chairperson, MJF Lion Dr Celso Fernandes to the Club. The Three teachers felicitated for their dedicated services in the taluka were Maya Gaonkar in the category of Higher Secondary section from S.S. Angle Higher Secondary School, Sanjyot Naik, a High School teacher from Shri Katyani Baneshwar Vidhyalaya and Pratima Prabhudesai, a Primary teacher from Government Primary School.
Twelve meritorious students from SSC and HSSC from Canacona also felicitated Shweta Velip, Kshiti Amshikar, Aman Painginkar and Merril Anjali Lolienkar, Aditi Pagi, Melvisha Periera, Sita Gosavi, Tejasvani Nadge, Josinta Gotarna, Laximesh Velip and Averin Dias. The President of Lions Club of Canacona Lion, Patricia Mendonca e Torres welcomed the gathering and spoke on the importance of Teachers Day,
The Chief guest Lion Dr Celso Fernandes, Region Chairperson of Region 1, District 317 B, spoke on the importance of Teachers role in Society.
Lion Sachin Kale Zone Chairperson was also present along with members of Lions and Leo Club of Canacona.
