MARGAO: Canacona Sports and Cultural Club shot out Fr. Agnelo Youth Club paroda 5-4 via the tiebreaker to enter into the finals of the All Goa Navelim Villagers Union trophy organised by Navelim Villagers Union and played at Rosary Church ground Navelim on Wednesday.
Canacona drew the first blood through Velvino Fernandes in the 10th minute of play and doubled the lead through Chaitan Kamorpant in the 20th minute of play while Regan Costa of Paroda’s power-packed shot entered the net in the 27th minute of the game and before half time Canacona SCC remained 2-1 at the breather.
Changing over Fr. Agnel YSC Paroda entered the field with renewed ideas played at a fast pace and scored through Teron Fernandes in the 57th minute of play to find the equaliser and make way for a penalty shootout to decide the winner.
In the resultant tiebreaker breaker, Canacona SCC scored through Ronaldo Oliveira, Pralhad Velip and Yamnursab Pinjar while Kanchan Keiro and Melson Fernandes of Fr Agnelo YSC Paroda were on target.
Antonio Zeramic Pires presented the man of the match to Ravil Fernandes.
