CANACONA: The results of Canacona Shigmotsav floats parade held last week is finally out, with Kadokada Shigmosthav Mandal, Curchorem and Mahalaxmi Nagrik Samiti, Bhandora winning the top honours in the Romtamel category and Chitrarath Category, respectively.
Canacona Shigmosthav Sammittee Working president Babesh Borker in a result made public on Monday, declared Mahalaxmi Nagrik Samiti, Bhandora has bagged the winners purse of Rs.45,000/- in the Chitrarath Category, while Adpai Yuvak Sangh bagged the second place carrying a purse of Rs.30,000/- and Jai Santoshi Maa Khorlim won the third place with a purse of Rs.25,000/-. Shivrai Yuvak MaNDAL-Kallem (20,000), Shree Krishna Hausi Mandal (15000) and Rakhaneshwar Yuwak Sangh (10000), were the other 4th, 5th and 6th prizes, respectively winners in the Chitrarath Category. Honorarium of Rs.5000/- each were given to Sai Kala Mandal, Teen Raja, Shri Dambab Prassann, Shri Shantadurga Prassann and Shiv Jayanti SamaroahSamittee, Canacona.
In the Romtamel category, Kakoda Shigmotsav Mandal Curchorem won the 1st place cash award of Rs.35,000/-, Avdekar Samai, Borim 2nd place (20,000/-) and Chandreshwar Bhuthnath Shigmosthav Mandal, Quepem 3rd place (Rs.15,000/-). Canacona’s Jijau mahila Romtamel (10,000/-), , Khandepar Shigmotsav Samiti (7000/-) and Suyog Shigmosthav Mandal (5000/-) were the other 4th, 5th ad 6th place holders in the Chitrarath Category.
In the Fancy Dress (Sr) Category, Vaibhav Desai who became Aghori won the plast prize of Rs.7,000/-, while Dhananjay Naik who dressed as Mahalaxmi won the second place award of Rs.5,000/-and Siddesh Marathe (presented himself as Aadi Yogi) won 3rd place cash of Rs.4,000/-. Rudraj Naik (Ravan), Swapnil S Naik (Hanuman) and Pooja P Dalvi (Shabari) won 4th (3,000/-), 5th (2,000/-) and 6th (1,000/-) places, respectively. Besides 4 consolation prizes of Rs.1000/- each were awarded.
In the Folk Dance Category Titto Sports Club, Poinguinim won the first price of Rs.20,000/-, while Shri Ram Kala Sangh, Ponda (2nd )Rs.15,000/-, Parashuram Kala Sangh (3rd place) Rs.10,000/-, Adi Purush, Canaocna (4th) Rs.8,000/- and Navdurga Kala ani Krida Sangh (5th) Rs.5,000/-, were awarded.
Fancy Dress (Jr) category Srisha S Narvekar who presented as Tara Rani worn the first place of Rs. 5,000/-, Paras N Prabhudesai (Render) and Aaradhya Kadam (Hanuman) won Rs.4,000/- and 3,000/- as 2nd and 3rd prize winners, respectively.
Aarvi R Pagi (Kali), Gorakh Nagarsekar (Shivaji) and Shanaya Y Kankonkar (Rane Laxmi) were awarded Rs.1,500/-, 1,000/- and 500/-, after adjudged at 4th, 5th and 6th place winners, respectively.. Only one Consolation Honorarium of Rs.500/- is awarded to Hitiksha Shirodkar (Balu Mama).
Canacona Shigmotsav floats/parade was held on last week on Tuesday (25th Mar).
