The event will formally mark the beginning of the sporting activities and set the tone for the festival.
Over the course of three days, the festival is expected to host a range of sports competitions and activities, drawing participation from local youth and sports groups. The organisers have emphasised that the festival is designed not only as a competition but also as a celebration of sportsmanship, discipline, and cultural unity within the region.
The closing ceremony will be held on January 11 at 12:00 noon at the same venue. The concluding event will mark the end of the festival and is expected to include prize distribution and acknowledgements for participants, organisers, and volunteers who contributed to the successful conduct of the event.
Organisers said the Gutribal Katkato Sports Festival reflects a continued effort by the state sports authorities and local youth organisations to strengthen sporting infrastructure and opportunities at the village level.
