Canacona: In a moment of immense pride for Shree Mallikarjun Higher Secondary School, Char-Rasta, and the entire Canacona taluka, student Anamika Kumari has emerged as the state topper in Geography in the Goa Board HSSC examinations, scoring an outstanding 99 out of 100 marks.
Anamika’s remarkable achievement was recently recognised by Rajhauns Publications, Panaji, a reputed name in educational publishing, at a special felicitation ceremony in her honour.
Originally from Bihar and residing in Goa for the past 18 years, Anamika has overcome several challenges, including economic constraints, to achieve academic excellence — notably without the support of private tuition. Her success, she says, is rooted in dedication and the unwavering support of her teachers.
At the felicitation ceremony, Anamika was joined by her mentor and Geography teacher Mrs. Soulakshi Santosh Gaonkar, whose consistent guidance played a key role in her academic journey. Also present was Principal Vihar V. N. Desai, who praised Anamika’s effort and reiterated the school’s commitment to academic excellence and holistic student development.
The school’s management body, CPI (Centro Promotor de Instrucao), led by Chairman Shamba Naik Desai, expressed immense pride in Anamika’s achievement. “This is not just a personal milestone, but a badge of honour for our institution,” said Principal Desai. “Her journey shows what focused effort, supportive mentorship, and the right learning environment can achieve.”
Chairman Naik Desai added, “Anamika Kumari’s accomplishment is a shining chapter in Canacona’s educational history. Her story is sure to inspire many more students across Goa.”
