CANSAULIM: Cansaulim witnessed a candlelight protest at Mathany Saldanha Circle on September 25, where members of the Goa Pradesh Youth Congress and locals gathered to condemn what they described as the rise of ‘Gundaraj’ in the state.
Addressing the gathering, Goa Pradesh Youth Congress Working President Mahesh Nadar said the recent attack on Rama was not just a personal assault but a troubling sign of law and order deteriorating in Goa. “This incident has shaken the conscience of every Goan who values justice, peace and dignity. It was not merely an attack on an individual, but a reflection of growing disregard for law and order,” Nadar stated.
He noted that the strong and unified response from activists, media professionals, and leaders across party lines in the aftermath of the incident proved that Goans would not accept intimidation or violence. “The people of Goa will always stand by truth and justice,” he added.
Nadar further said that the Youth Congress stands in full solidarity with Rama and demanded a fair, transparent and time-bound investigation. He urged the state government and authorities to ensure accountability by bringing the perpetrators to justice without delay.
Calling for stronger measures to restore public faith, Nadar stressed that no citizen in Goa should ever feel unsafe or unheard again.
