COLVA: A 33-year-old man from Cansaulim succumbed to injuries sustained in a self-accident earlier last month, police said.
According to information received from the Casualty Police at Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) Bambolim on March 1 at around 10.34 am, Baven Anthony Antao (33), a resident of Cansaulim, Salcete, passed away while undergoing treatment.
During inquiry at GMC, the deceased’s mother, Brenda Antao, informed police that her son had met with a self-accident on February 22 at about 12.15 pm near Bandar, Sernabatim. He was travelling on his Activa scooter from Sernabatim towards Colva when the accident occurred, resulting in injuries.
Locals shifted him to District Hospital, Margao, in a 108 ambulance, from where he was later referred to GMC Bambolim for further medical care.
In connection with the incident, Colva Police Station had registered a motor vehicle accident case on February 27. The victim subsequently succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Further inquiry is being conducted by PSI Nikhil Khajnekar of Colva Police Station.
