NUVEM: A car driver has been booked for rash and negligent driving after he allegedly knocked down two pedestrians at Kupem, Nuvem, on September 6.
Police said the accused, identified as Roger Stanford Fernandes of Pateapur, Nuvem, was driving a Honda car in a rash manner without due care while proceeding from Nuvem towards Raia at around 6 pm. On reaching near a mobile shop at Kupem, the car reportedly dashed against an Activa scooter parked by the roadside and later hit two pedestrians walking along the left side of the road.
The pedestrians, identified as Vanila Culaco of Nuvem and Swelly Culaco of Baida, Nuvem, sustained injuries in the mishap. Further investigation is being carried out by ASI Hemant Gaude of Maina Curtorim Police Station.
