Panaji: The Panaji Police have registered an offence against a 40-year-old man for allegedly driving in a rash and negligent manner after his car rammed into a road divider near Babasaheb Ambedkar Garden in the early hours of February 13.
As per information from Panaji Police Station, the case has been registered under Crime No. 22/2026 under Sections 281 and 125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
According to the complaint lodged by HC Anil G. Kurtikar (Buckle No. 6246), the incident occurred at around 4:45 am on February 13 near Babasaheb Ambedkar Garden, Patto. The accused, identified as Pandurang Ganachari (40), a resident of Merces-Murda, Tiswadi, was allegedly driving an Ertiga car (GA-07-N-2303) from Panaji towards the KTC side when he lost control of the vehicle and dashed against the road divider.
As a result of the impact, the occupant of the vehicle, Visaesh Jaggi (34), a resident of Madan Mahal, Jabalpur, sustained injuries to his right shoulder.
Police have initiated further investigation into the matter under the supervision of HC Anil Kurtikar.
