KARASWADA: Three of the seven tourists from Satara, Maharashtra, were critically hurt after their vehicle collided with a container truck parked in Karaswada, Mapusa.
Around 5:30 in the morning, the tourists were traveling to Mapusa when the disaster happened. Shankar Arate, the speeding motorist, crashed into the parked vehicle after failing to see it. The car’s front end was totally destroyed due to the force of the crash. Along with the car, the container’s driver ran away.
To free the people inside, firefighters and emergency services had to cut the vehicle.
Ganpat Kasit (47), Sachin Phalke (47), Uday Bhosale (45), Pramod Jhanjne (47), Dharmendra Phalke (48), Pramod Jadhav (48), and Shankar Arate (47), are the names of the injured. They were taken immediately to Bambolim’s Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC).
