Panaji: Panaji Police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving against a car driver in connection with an accident that occurred on August 19 at Divja Circle, Panaji.
According to police, the accused, identified as Siddesh Sawlo Chari (44), a resident of Golwada, Kumbarjua, was driving a WagonR car (GA-06-D-7292) towards Panaji city when he allegedly rammed into a Deo scooter (GA-03-L-6731) moving in the same direction.
The scooter rider, Amol Mandrekar (49), of Guirim, Bardez, sustained injuries in the accident and is currently undergoing treatment in Ward No. 103 of GMC, Bambolim.
Following a complaint lodged by Head Constable Anil G. Kurtikar of Panaji Police Station, an offence was registered under sections 281 and 125(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).Police said further investigation is underway.
