PORVORIM: Police have registered a case against a caretaker for allegedly killing two pet dogs by poisoning them at a residence in Porvorim.
The case was registered on the basis of a written complaint by Harshan Nitin Pradhan, a resident of Porvorim and originally from Mumbai, who alleged that between 6:40 pm and 9:30 pm on June 25, 2025, his caretaker, Khim Bahadur Pun, a native of Nepal and resident of Porvorim, poisoned and killed his two pet dogs at his residence in Supra Valley, Halliwada, Porvorim.
An FIR has been registered at Porvorim Police Station (Cr No. 82/2025) under Section 325 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and Section 11(1)(i) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.
Police said that a notice has been issued to the accused under Section 35(3) of the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, and further investigation is in progress.
