PANAJI: Carmel Boys Curtorim lifted the 18th Rebello Pandal Trophy with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Rebello Pandal Maina in the final, held at the St. Rita Church ground in Maina Curtorim. Organized by Rebello Pandal Maina, the match saw a competitive display from both sides, but it was Allent of Carmel Boys who sealed the win with a powerful strike in the 56th minute that hit the crossbar before finding the net. The tournament also recognized several outstanding individual performances. Dylan of Carmel Boys was named Best Goalkeeper of the final, while Delmon, also from Carmel Boys, was awarded Best Defender. Allywn of Rebello Pandal Maina was named both Best Half of the final and Man of the Match, while his teammate Cyril was adjudged the Best Player of the final. Raymond Fernandes of Dragon FC won Best Half of the Tournament, and Allent of Carmel Boys was recognized as the first scorer of the final. St. Rita Boys Maina received the Best Disciplined Team award, and Cain from Michon Warriors was named Upcoming Player of the Tournament. The losing semifinalists were Dragon FC and Gantamorod FC. The prize distribution was graced by Chief Guest Mr. Alexio Reginald Lourenco, MLA of Curtorim constituency, along with Fr. Dominic Vaz, Parish Priest of St. Rita Church, international footballer Mahesh Gawali, and other dignitaries including Savio Fernandes, Mr. Jacob Athaide, Concesao Dias, and Angelius Rebello.
